The Wilhelmstrasse was the centre of political power in Germany until 1945. Most government ministries and the chancellery were located there. Adolf Hitler also built his megalomaniac “New Chancellery“ in the Wilhelmstrasse – and spent the last weeks of his life in the bunker beneath it. The war left much of the area in ruins. This tour will show you what remains of the old Wilhelmstrasse, including the former ministries of airfare and propaganda, the site of Hitler’s infamous “Fuhrerbunker“ and the “Topography of Terror“ exhibition at the site where the SS and Gestapo had their headquarters.
